The 8.2 mile course goes north along the ocean beachfront of the Silver Strand. This event is held at low tide on hard packed sand, passing through Naval Amphibious Base beaches and in front of the beautiful Hotel del Coronado about 1 mile before the finish. This event is sponsored by Coronado Rotary Club and this year is proudly supporting as their principal beneficiary Naval Medical Center in San Diego's Comprehensive Combat and Complex Casualty Care rehabilitation facility. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path.
